I am attempting to connect a CET4 Motor Protection Relay (with a profibus option card) to a S5 PLC with a old profibus card (it uses the NCM CP5430 software to configure.)

I have 2 questions:
(1) Has anyone connected a Sprecher and Schuh CET4 relay to a s5 PLC using the old profibus card?

(2) Does anyone know where I can get the GSD file that should accompany the CET4 profibus card?

 

Hello,

(1) I have not connected a S&S CET4 but other equipment. You have to do it with the COM NCM and give in the hexadecimal settings in the DP section. Those hex settings are the in- and output of the CET4 of S&S.

When you don't have a clue to give in the hex settings, then please send the GSD (when you find it) to me and give some information about what you want, so i can give you back the hex settings.

(2) If it is a certified Profibus equipment then you may find on the page http://www.profibus.com some information.

PS: It is easyer to do this with a IM 308C when you find the GSD. This card is programmed with COM Profibus.
