Selecting A Pressure Switch for Hazardous Environments

B

you would need to select a switch listed for use in the area classification it will be installed in.

is this for a US class I area? If so there seem to be some that are listed as explosion proof for Class I, Div 1 and 2 areas.

controlexpert51,

Whenever I've had an application question about a switch and I've contacted CCS Dual Snap, or one of their manufacturer's representatives, they've always been very helpful with a recommendation once I've explained the requirements of the application.

The main issue with H2S is its corrosiveness. It will destroy copper and many other metals. Gold stands up to it, but that can get rather expensive. You need to get your vendor on board with this.
