First, sorry about the length of the post. But I need to explain my situation.

After reading through some of these forum posts, I feel that my problem is like a newborn compared to what all of you deal with. I'm not an engineer by any means but I used to be a software developer but now in management more than anything. My problem is of a personal nature. I have a power love seat that has two panels. One is the buttons that move the leg rest, lumbar and head rest. The other is the display that shows whether you are operating both sides, the left or right side. The display has gone out and since I am a tinker type of person, I ordered a new one to see if I could get it to work. After researching, I have determined that the TFT display is a Chinese version of the Nextion display and that the HMI software to use is also Chinese.

Now to my problem. I am able to use the Arduino IDE serial monitor to display the results of pushing the buttons on the control panel. What I need help with is setting up the TFT display to read the button push and based on the string that is read, display the appropriate page on the display. What I need assistance with is in knowing how to get the input, parse the string that comes in and then display the appropriate page. I understand how to setup the pages, put the image in it. But other than that, how do I wait for input, get the input and parse it. If any one can tell me how to do this with the Nextion HMI IDE, I can figure it out on the Chinese version.
