There's this really neat innovation called an Internet search engine (I don't know why it's called an engine, but it is; you gotta love the computer nerds). You can type in various words and terms and it will display many different and varied related websites.

Three of the most used Internet seach engines are Yahoo Search, Google, and this upstart called 'Bing'. There are even search engine aggregators (I think that's what they're called) that use several different search engines and then display the most relevant results so you don't have to try different search engines. One is called www.dogpile.com (again, you gotta love the computer nerds).

Try your search there. Also, try the manufacturer's websites for various unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable makers. I've always found that if someone really wants you to buy their wares they will tell you why there's are better than everyone else's, and provide some very interesting comparisons, also.

There's even websites which help "novices" with their understanding of principles and terms and phenomena, like www.wikipedia.org, and www.howstuffworks.com. There's even www.ask.com where you can type questions (though Google even accepts questions these days in their search term field!).

This is not a subject that requires a detailed technical response. You can find what you're looking for by exhibiting a little initiative and using Internet search engines, which is likely how you found this site, eh?

It has to do with insulation thickness, twists per inch, material etc. to avoid crosstalk between wires. I also think I read somewhere the ends have slightly different internally.
