Hi everyone,
I'm one of the creators of Dasberry Modbus and we just launched it. It's a completely free Windows desktop app for monitoring Modbus RTU sensors and instruments: Dasberry Modbus
We built it because we kept seeing a gap. The tools out there are either testing utilities you wouldn't run in production, or full SCADA systems that are overkill for a lot of applications. We wanted something powerful enough for real applications but simple enough that anyone can get started. You can think of it as a really easy to use and set up HMI on your laptop.
What it does:
Honest limitations: it's Modbus RTU only right now (no TCP yet), Windows only, and it acts as a master only, so it won't simulate a slave for bench testing.
On why it's free: we're a hardware distributor (IOThrifty) and supporters of Modbus, so the app is our way of giving back. No license, no trial, no upsell.
We'd really appreciate feedback from people here. Our goal is to support as many applications as possible without compromising on ease of use. Thank you all for your support!!!

- Setup wizard to add devices and registers quickly
- Real-time dashboards with flexible widgets and charts
- Alarms with thresholds that light up the dashboard
- Data logging with built-in reporting, all data stays on your machine
- Pipelines: programmatic access to your data, so you can log to files, push to databases or other systems, or connect to our cloud platform for email/SMS alerts and remote access
