Tower of babel

Several notes of interest:

As to Price Fixing: Charging different customers different prices is just a fact of buisness. Companies that buy less do not enjoy volume discounts. End Users who require much more support that large OEM customers will also pay more. OEMs that give their discretionary buisness to other manufacturers will often pay more. This is not really price discrimination, just a realization that more resources will be consumed based on the type of customer and their experience levels (experience as a general group not an individual).

Secondly, As for not able to easily drill down from Modbus TCP/IP to Modbus or Modbus Plus, this is simply wrong. It is easy to get information from any of these networks from the other, either via simple network briges, or controllers. The Idea that AB has it so well, is just a perception, not reality. The Cost of the RSLinx, the slow speed of RSLinx, etc. are all problems that AB does not want to talk about.
