What is voltage balance scheme in alternator protection? Is it advisable to implement this scheme in alternators of all capacities? If it is not so, plz anybody tell me what are the standards which govern the implementation of this scheme.

It protects against failures involving voltage transformers (PTs or VTs):

o Blown fuses can alter their secondary output magnitude and phase angle.

o Ferroresonance can occur if the PTs are grounded (earthed) to an ungrounded (unearthed) system.

o The ANSI/IEEE Protective Relay number is '60'.
