Altech Expands GEOS Electrical Enclosures for Harsh Environments
Designed for outdoor use, the GEOS electrical enclosure combines IP67 protection with flexible mounting and ventilation options.
Outdoor electrical installations demand reliable protection against water, dust, and extreme conditions. Altech’s GEOS series electrical enclosures are designed for harsh environments, offering IP67-rated protection in a durable polycarbonate housing. Available in multiple sizes, colors, and door configurations, the GEOS enclosure supports flexible mounting while resisting UV exposure, mechanical stress, and temperature extremes. Features such as optional ventilation and a drain protection seal system help safeguard internal components and extend service life in demanding outdoor applications.

Water And Electricity Don’t Mix
It is common knowledge that electrical components do not mix well with water, yet we still need to install and use them in outdoor settings. An electrical enclosure can be used to house electrical devices and protect them from outdoor elements. Altech Corp has recently expanded its line of electrical enclosures to include IP67-rated models designed for outdoor or harsh environments.

Altechs GEOS
The GEOS is a polycarbonate IP67-rated enclosure available in black or gray, with multiple mounting and closing options. The GEOS can withstand temperatures from -35° to 80° C while still providing insulated protection and is both UL and CSA approved. An optional air-ventilation system can be installed to allow continuous airflow through the enclosure while still maintaining an IP65 rating. This added ventilation can help keep components cool and reduce condensation from building up on the inside of the box. The exterior of the box will resist UV rays, scratches, and greases, oils, and mechanical stresses.
The door of the enclosure can be opaque or transparent, and with or without hinges. The hinged models feature a 180° opening angle and can be locked with a 3 mm two-bit key. Every model's door can be easily removed, or the swing direction changed.
There are three base sizes: 300, 400, or 500 mm, with two heights: 300 or 400 mm. The enclosure comes in either gray or black. The back plane is installed on a rail system, allowing devices to be positioned at the optimal location within the box.

Drain Protect Seal System
In any outdoor enclosure, there is a seal between the door or cover and the box itself. If this seal is compromised, water could enter the enclosure, potentially damaging the components inside. The GEOS series of enclosures uses a drain protection system comprising an overlapping cover or door and specific channels that direct moisture away from the seal. This feature protects the elastomer seal and the components inside.
Protect Devices From Harsh Environments
Electrical components need to be used in all conditions, but some cannot withstand harsh environments. A solid enclosure, much like the GEOS enclosure, provides the protection your components need to keep working no matter the weather.
