Autonics Launches TP Series Graphic Panels with Quad-Core Processing

New graphic panels from Autonics use quad-core CPUs, offer several communication options, support VNC remote monitoring, and are IP66 rated for industrial use.

Autonics recently launched the TP series of graphic panels, industrial HMIs designed for faster processing, flexible connectivity, and remote monitoring of automated equipment. Available in several sizes, the new panels come with dedicated monitoring and project management software.

Multiple Sizes for Different Industrial Equipment

The TP series offers three display sizes, 4.3-inch, 7-inch, and 10.1-inch, to fit various machines and equipment. Each model features a 16M TFT color LCD and is made for industrial touch panel use. The panels are lightweight, with models weighing from 0.22 kg to 0.80 kg.

The HMI panels have a backlight that lasts over 50,000 hours, helping reduce the frequency with which displays need to be replaced or maintained. Having different sizes lets machine builders design operator interfaces that fit varying panel spaces or viewing needs.

 

Quad-Core Processing, Built-In Storage, and VNC Function

A key feature of the TP series is its quad-core CPU, with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash storage. This hardware lets users monitor connected devices without displaying all process information on the HMI screen, offering greater flexibility for system monitoring. The panel has three RS232C and RS422/485 serial ports, plus two Ethernet ports. USB connections are available with both Type-A and Type-C interfaces. The series also supports the EPSON protocol and includes a real-time clock (RTC).

The TP series includes VNC (Virtual Network Computing), so users can monitor and control the HMI from a PC or mobile device. Remote access helps operators or maintenance staff view the HMI without being at the panel, which is useful for equipment monitoring and troubleshooting in industrial settings.

AtDesigner-TP Provides Dedicated HMI Development Tools

Autonics created the atDesigner-TP software for building and managing TP series projects. Users can edit screen layouts, shapes, properties, and other data. The software offers a library of images, screens, keypads, and visual effects for HMI development. It also supports overlap screens, checks data validity after downloading projects, and provides an online/offline simulator for testing designs. For monitoring and project management, atDesigner-TP includes VNC and FTP functions, and its communication features support real-time messages via SMS and email.

 

Application in Industrial Automation

The new TP panel can serve as a factory distribution panel for monitoring and controlling connected equipment and processes. It also supports industrial equipment that needs multiple communication protocols. Smaller models fit compact machines, while larger sizes offer larger interfaces for applications that need more information on screen. Support for OPC UA and semiconductor communication protocols expands the range of industrial environments where the panels can be used. The TP series is IP66-rated, so the panels are suitable for areas that need protection from dust and water.

Modern HMIs must offer more than basic operator control. Features such as connectivity, remote monitoring, software flexibility, and compatibility with various industrial devices influence how an HMI fits within larger automation systems. The new TP series addresses these needs, giving machine builders flexibility to use different panel sizes and connect through multiple interfaces.
