Key Features of Festo’s DHPL Gripper

For consistent and precise gripping, the new DHPL gripper is equipped with rack and pinion designs and three guide rods that give the gripper an impressive repeat accuracy of as little as 0.03 mm. Designed for high load and torque applications, the gripper offers a force rating of between 40 and 750 N, rated for use in pressure systems of up to 116 psi, making it adaptable to a wide range of industrial needs.

Designed from anodized cast aluminum alloy, the parallel grippers come in a lightweight and compact design, making them suitable for modern machines where power conservation is a rising priority. When it comes to ongoing upkeep of the moving parts, the new gripper comes fully sealed with a lifetime lubrication that needs no maintenance. Featuring a substantial jaw stroke range, from 20 to 200 mm, the DHPL gripper is flexible in accommodating diverse gripping needs for different industrial applications.

Flexible in Mounting and Sensor Placement

To allow seamless integration into existing systems, the DHPL offers end users and machine builders flexible sensor placement and mounting options. For precise mounting, the grippers are equipped with positioning pin holes that also simplify replacement and integration. The grippers have jaw interfaces in which fingers and brackets can be added by the end user, suitable for either inner or outer gripping (meaning gripping the part when closed or gripping when extended).

Pneumatic End-Position Cushioning

As a standard feature, Festo's new long-stroke parallel gripper comes with pneumatic end-position cushioning for smoother performance and longer life when operated at the extreme ends of the stroke. This cushioning offers adjustability, allowing optimization based on the mass and the speed needed for the specific application.

Competitive Pricing and Application

The new long-stroke parallel gripper offers a more accessible gripping solution in a wider application range with its competitive pricing strategy. This gripper’s versatility in design makes it a targeted solution for use in gripping parts, stacking boxes, keeping bags open during manufacturing processes, and handling shaped parts.
