AMETEK has announced a $920 million acquisition of the 3D imaging and metrology company FARO Technologies. MISUMI is making a notable investment in the future of manufacturing by acquiring Fictiv for $350 million, which will enable the company to expand its global AI-driven production capabilities.

Addverb Enhances Warehouse Safety With Infineon BLE
Addverb Technologies, a robotics automation company, has recently collaborated with semiconductor giant Infineon Technologies to integrate BLE modules into its fleet of mobile robots.
To ensure safe robot-human interactions in warehouses, BLE technology enables seamless remote emergency stop and shut-down functionality. By leveraging the stable connection of BLE, Addverb can easily coordinate and manage its fleet in dynamic warehouse environments. With centralized control, the modules ensure scalability in simultaneous control of the warehouse robot fleet, eliminating the need for manual control of individual units.
According to Addverb's CEO and Co-Founder, Sangeet Kumar, the BLE technology from Infineon enables the development of a more secure and efficient control system, allowing Addverb to scale its robots faster while ensuring reliability.

AMETEK To Acquire FARO Technologies
AMETEK has recently made a definitive agreement to acquire FARO Technologies for approximately $920 million. This acquisition values FARO at $44 per share, a 40% increase over its current market value.
FARO, known for its legacy of precision imaging and 3D measurement tools, including laser scanners, portable measurement arms, and 3D software, boasts a strong market presence across various industries, generating an annual sales revenue of $340 million.
According to David Zapico, Chairman and CEO of AMETEK, the acquisition of FARO by the company is a strategic fit, as FARO's innovative products and software align with AMETEK's existing metrology business. With shareholder approval and regulatory review still pending, the acquisition deal is expected to close in the second half of this year.

Fictiv Joins Misumi To Enhance Sourcing
Misumi Group, a leader in parts manufacturing and distribution, has signed a $350 million deal to acquire Fictiv, a supply chain solutions-focused company. Since its inception in 2013, Fictiv has produced over 35 million commercial and custom parts for a range of customers across industries such as robotics, aerospace, automotive, clean energy, and consumer goods.
According to CEO and Co-Founder of Fictiv Dave Evans, the collaboration with MISUMI will enable the company to further its goal of delivering accessible, intelligent, and scalable manufacturing. The companies will combine their hardware and software to offer a single, unified interface. This interface will utilize Fictiv’s AI-powered workflows to help users source standard and custom-manufactured parts, reducing production times and enhancing bill of materials-level planning without compromising quality.
