SensoPart, a leading manufacturer of image processing solutions for factory automation, has recently introduced the VISOR XE vision sensor series, featuring processing speeds up to four times faster than its predecessors and AI capabilities up to eight times faster.

The VISOR XE series features different models that specialize in code reading, object AI, and robotic applications, making the system ideal for tackling complex tasks for a wide variety of industrial applications ranging from the automotive industry to packaging.

What’s So XE-tra About the VISOR XE?

The VISOR XE series’ advanced technology integrates deep learning optimization and multiple processor cores, significantly enhancing object detection capabilities. The VISOR XE series is designed for versatility in various industrial applications, from simple presence checks to complex quality control tasks, allowing companies to enhance productivity and precision with a 1600x1200 pixel resolution, leading to a faster and more reliable vision system.

The speed of processing is constantly evolving for modern vision platforms, allowing industries to increase throughput with fewer failures. With eight times faster classification capabilities, the new VISOR XE sensors ensure accurate results even under dynamic working conditions.

These speeds are possible thanks to several processor cores working in tandem that partnered with integrated hardware acceleration for deep learning algorithms. Their flexible architecture allows them to adapt to varying distances, thereby facilitating high-resolution object detection, and will feature four different fields of view; narrow, medium, wide, and c-mount which will depend on the type of lens used. Depending on the model, the vision system comes standard with infrared (IR), red, or white lighting with a manual or motorized focus system using an infrared target laser.

Integration of the VISOR XE sensors into existing industrial operations is streamlined by their compatibility with current VISOR software and the additional LAN interface. This configuration minimizes installation complexity and reduces cabling needs when deploying multiple sensors, particularly in robotic applications. The ability to support multiple cameras with a single connection to the robot controller illustrates the efficiency of their design, promoting smarter and cost-effective solutions.
