RTD failure
you may be dealing with a winding failure, check your motor shop, and do the winding insulation testing when you get a chance.

Electro magnetic flow meter fluctuations
Brine in a closed loop? Are you measuring sea water or some other fluid. Also, since the fluctuations begin at higher valve openiings, are you dealing with multi phase flose (air pockets, etc.).

Level Indicator Plugging Problem
heat tracing is regarding asphaltic depositions, otherwise liquid purges are require per a previous suggestion or alternative system design with may not be your option

Non-Contact Radar level sensor doesn't show the actual level, stuck at a particular value
sounds like a transmitter failure.

What is the magnetic flow meter electrodes resistance range, specially for 2 inch size
Magflow meters rely on flowing conductive fluid. The current flow is minimal so unless you have a non-conductive buildup on the electrodes, you'll get a reading. There are a variety of insitu electrode cleaners.

Need to determine the transfer function of the system below
It is a bit more complex than Laplace transforms. For example, how many trays or in the column?

DCS Analog Input Loops - Blown Fuses
"The analog inputs are all loop powered in our case and use a non-incendive power supply." Sounds you are getting ground loop surges, from the field (motor starts, etc.). The field grounding, can really show extreme voltages relative to the control room/DCS grounding. We were seeing several...

RTD PT100 BEARING TEMPERATURE READING NOT STABLE
siraj, are your RTD's sheathed? If so is the sensor electrically connected with the sheath, so called grounded tip sensors?

Flame detectors trouble
if flame out is detected, shut the main fluels feeding the burner. burner logic beyond that is a detail engineering issue, well beyond a forum response

Interesting class, root locus plots come in handy too with excel and visual basic, the hysterisis mentioned involved occasional valve stem binding.

we had several submariners mechanical managers in the power house, too, they do know how to deal with the plant environment, and smart!

Question about Temperature Control
wait until you turn a controller in a heat exchanger loop, it is a multidimensional universe in that case, beyond pole locations, or even more challenging a steam dearator in a boiler feed water loop, with flow, pressure, drum lever, and emergency feed water...every thing is logical and rational...

Question about Temperature Control
The Smith Predictor is not always effective, and a derivative action to speed things up only work in a narrow range of applications where you have servo controls (robotics and related automation), minimal dead time, instant measurements, and minimal time constants, but generally ineffective in...
