The number of poles in the motor determines the speed of the motor. A 2 pole motor at 60 Hz will turn about 3600 rpm. A single pole motor does not exist so I wonder what you mean. Motor poles are always even numbers.

In the UK, formulas involving an AC motor's poles usually refer to pole-pairs.

A 1-pole induction motor is a 2-pole induction motor with a half sawn off
