I'm working on a project where I need to find a way to connect an OPC server with the AF100 network.

I have a production line with AC70 and AC80 connected through a AF100 communication network to a CI527 PCI module. the data collected is transferred to an HMI (Intouch v8.1) in a windows server 2003 environment.

I want to remove the CI527 module and make a direct connection between AF100 and InTouch HMI. I can't upgrade windows OS.

Do you have any suggestions using AC 100 OPC server or a way to make a gateway to get Modbus or Ethernet/IP as an adapter from AF100 to Ethernet ... ?

If the AC 100 OPC Server is compatible with your setup, it is the simplest and most direct method. Otherwise, a gateway device to translate AF100 to Modbus TCP or Ethernet/IP is a robust alternative.

 

According to ABB, the package proposed is the AC 100 OPC Server 6.1 with necessary upgrade of windows OS and Intouch version used with CI527A.
For my OS windows 2003, I think I can use the AC 100 OPC Server 5.1 but I don't know if it's compatible with CI527A and IHM intouch v8.1.
