As ABB has 800 A, Siemens PCS7 & Rockwell also... which system is best for power mangement system application for 4 no. power sources at 11 KV, 4 MW, 10 MW, 2.5 MW & grid import/export, synchronisation of all, load shedding & sharing, Active, Reactive power control? Which is the best (reliable) to chose among these available?

Please also tell me which is DCS of ABB & Siemens??
Also which is better PLC based SCADA or DCS for same??

Hi,

If you want a really reliable control system which can do most (and more) of the things you could expect I would recommend an ABB AC400 series controller in combination with one or several AC100 controllers depending on your system. It's a pity though that they are soon (or maybe already) going out of business but you will get something that pays off.

Have been working somewhat with PCS7 and the AC800 system but even after "a scratch on the surface" I can say that none of those comes close to the well proven Advant Controllers. Yes, they are expensive but as always you get whay you pay for.
