G. E Exhaust Thermocouple with P/N 328A8483P001 change to P/N 302A4010P002

Good day dear colleagues.

I sincerely need your assistance and Clarification (CSA and other great mentor).

I want to find out if G.E. changed the Part Number of Frame 6B Exhaust Thermocouple (ttxd) from 328A8483P001 to 302A4010P002.

I eagerly await your response.

Kind regards,
Dayo

If you're planning maintenance on a Frame 6B, ask your parts supplier or GE service representative whether your turbine originally used the older 302A4010P002, and if so, whether the 328A8483P001 is offered as a direct upgrade.
They can reference your serial number or turbine baseline to confirm compatibility.

Dear bidrohini, I sincerely appreciate your quick response.

This is the situation.
We planned a Major Maintenance on frame 6B Gas Turbine and requested for Exhaust Thermocouples with P/N 328A8483P001 which is what we are used to, but our Spare part Supplier, supplied Ttxd with PN302A4010P002, he said G:E changed the previous part number to 302A4010P002.

And from your response, you referred Ttxd with P/N 302A4010P002 as older ttxd.

Thank you, as I look forward to your clarifying response.

@Dayo,

CSA hasn’t posted for a couple of years. MIKEVIGUY posts very irregularly these days.

Most of the responders here only have limited access to GE drawings. Work with your spare parts supplier to sort the problem as they seem to have some knowledge. Perhaps they can send you the two drawings which might explain the difference(s). They may be able to tell you why GE and/or packagers of their machines have decided to use a different T/C—and it might be they are more reliable or easier to replace, both of which are good things.

GE and the packagers of GE-design heavy duty gas turbines have used many different exhaust T/Cs over the decades the machines have been produced. Ask your spare parts supplier for information about the two T/Cs and try to understand the difference (s). It might even be that the T/Cs you have are no longer produced for some reason.
