GE Vanadium Flow rate

Hi,

I am working with GE Frame 7EA Gas turbines. Regarding the vanadium inhibitor flow rate we are not having a clear picture. if any one is having an idea plz post it.

There should be a written description of the system and how it's to be set up in the Instruction Manuals provided with the turbine(s). The systems I saw were open loop, with no actual feedback from the skid, just a signal to start and stop. I think some later versions used a 4-20 mA output to drive a variable speed pump, but there was still no feedback on the actual flow-rate versus the flow-rate reference.

I believe the flow-rate is dependent on the amount of vanadium measured in the fuel being burned since the vanadium content can vary depending on the fuel source. As I recall, there was an adjustable pump stroke in addition to the variable speed aspect, and that there was some calculation required to set the stroke in conjunction with the speed signal to get the proper flow-rate. So, it's a relatively simple system, that's difficult to properly set up. But, once it's set up, it should operate trouble-free for years, unless the vanadium content of the fuel changes, and then it's back to the calculations and set-up.

You should be able to find the manufacturer's instruction manual provided with the skid, or, you could probably contact the skid manufacturer directly for some assistance if you can't get help from GE.
