I have a 4160v gen set and right after it is a 4160 volt to 480 v tranformer. @ the gen set the amp are reading 062a or around there. on the other side of the tranformer we are getting reading of 284a. can anyone tell me if there is a ratio conversion for the amps? I can't figure out which one is correct... does this make sense?

Responding to Anonymous' Sep, 12:46am query... no, it doesn't make sense!

kVA into the transformer's primary must equal kVA out of the transformer's secondary. My questions is, "Where were the currents you mentioned obtained?"
1) From the Generator and transformer nameplates? Or,
2) From primary and secondary current measurements?
