Our application process(written in C++) from HP UNIX server uses Interchange Library Routines (Allan Bradley-Rockwell) to communicate with PLC5 and CL5000. We need to move from HP UNIX server to LINUX. I need to know what are the options I have when it comes to communicating with PLCs.

Are there any OPC client library routines which can be used to communicate with OPC server which can communicate with our old and new PLCs Allan Bradley? (PLC-5 and CL5000)

That was with a Honeywell system rather than AB, but the user was also moving a C/C++ application from HP-UX to Linux.

 

Do you have Ethernet or serial connectivity on your PLC5s?
