I built a Windows tool for Modbus RTU/TCP devices that I originally made for my own use. I’m now considering making it available to others.
Before talking to a device, or when something goes wrong, it helps to see what each register returns and whether a write is safe. This tool is meant for exactly that.
Main features:
Modbus TCP and TLS are supported. The serial (RS-485) side is also included. I have tested it with some RS-485 hardware, but feedback from anyone with serial experience would be very valuable.
The trial is 14 days. During the trial, reading and monitoring are free; writing to devices is locked until a license is entered.

If you try it, I’d really appreciate hearing what’s missing, wrong, or confusing.

Main features:
- Register Probe: Scans register and coil ranges and shows which ones respond.
- Request Runner: Write Modbus requests as scenarios, run them in order, and check the responses against expectations.
- Response validation: Checks byte count, MBAP header, and exception codes against the request.
- Write confirmation: Every write asks for separate confirmation, which reduces the risk of sending a wrong value by accident.
