Why not install linux on the old pc or laptop?
I am using open suse tumbleweed on my old pc and laptop.

When you install wine on the linux pc,
a lot of windows programs will run fine.

I use wine to run ltspice on my linux pc.

As a Linux user, many of these concepts are foreign to me.

Thanks for the info! I've got an old computer running Windows 10 that can't be upgraded to Win11, everything's fine so far, but I'm a bit worried about security once support ends (though I've already made a backup). I should probably give Linux a try on it too.
