Greetings Folks,
I was a lover back in the late 90's with WW Intouch. I stayed working with it for about 10 years. Now at the end of my career, in a newer position, I find myself with 13 furnaces each with their stand alone Eurotherm 3504 Temperature Controllers. Furnaces are cycling samples hot to cold 24/7. I installed a RS-485 / Modbus network between them connecting to 2 desktop PS's. I don't see a need at this point for a PLC.
Eurotherm iTools seems fine for working between controllers but I'm looking for something where I can design on one page with a functioning graphic of the controller with a temperature trend graph to the left of the controller. Then I can just have multiple rows of controllers with corresponding graphs. A quick and simple view of 2-3 pages to verify every thing ran okay the night before. Also with the abilty of simple math counting the number of hot cycles withing the past X hours.
It seems AVEVA Intouch has far outgrew my expectations of a simple MMI of the old days. They advertise Viewer / Maker "workstation" package at $1795. Only after asking for a quote did they tell me that Dev Studio is required for another $8900. That's BS and false advertising.
Can anyone recommend a MMI package that would suit my needs?
I see that there is a Eurotherm 35XX driver for LabVIEW. I did take the Core 1&2 courses back maybe 15-20 years ago and could give that a shot. I'd appreciate any feedback and options.
