i am working in cement plant. i have 1600kw DOL motor ,45 mocro farad star connected capacitor is there across motor.
we are purchasing stand by for these capacitors. supplier sent us 15 micro farad capacitor and told us that it will give same kvars as 45 micro farad if you will connect these capacitors in delta.
my question is "if i shall connect 15 m f delta connected capacitor across the motor, is there will be any problem or it is ok while my motor has star connection"

1) Make sure capacitor voltage is rated phase-to-phase.
