determining pressure drop when there are no know pressures after the valve

 

Let me rephrase that. If I dont have a known P2 after a control valve, how do you go about calculating P2(drop).

 

If you know valve upstream pressure P1, valve travel, valve inherent characteristic, valve flow coefficient (Cv), flowrate, and medium specific gravity (assuming a liquid medium) you can get the theoretical value of P2.
