We want replace Prosoft MVI94-MCM which is installed in a FlexIO rack. We can can not replace the whole part as this will disconnect the IO rack and may cause process interruption. I have already copied the configuration file from the installed one and transferred it to a new one. Will replacing only the front module interrupt the process or not. The signals connected to this module are not critical but I am only afraid if this will cause PLC to go to stop.

 

Check PLC fault configuration to ensure a module fault doesn’t cause a major fault.
Put the slot in inhibit mode from Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000 (if FlexLogix/CompactLogix/ControlLogix is used).

 

I have disconnected the power wires to this module and nothing happened (The PLC remains healthy). I do this from time to time to restore the communication with the slave each time operator reports.

Currently I am also working with MVI94 card, I would like to add new command to configuration file and then transfer to MVI94 card. Based on user manual of MVI94, it recommends using Hyper Terminal for downloading & uploading config file.

My laptop is on win 11, I found a download file for Hyper Terminal on https://www.hilgraeve.com/hyperterminal/
but I am not sure it's working. My card is on production, so I want to ensure to using correct software before proceed modifying configure.
Could you please share which software did you use to work with MVI94? Did you use USB to serial port to connect your laptop with MVI94 card?
