We have two Bently Nevada 3300 systems the we are looking at upgrading to the Bently 3500 series. I am required to get three quotes for replacement. I am having trouble finding any systems comparable to the Bently 3500 system. It needs to be able to accommodate a Siemens 501F Combustion Turbine and Steam Turbine. Any Suggestions?

Okay. Thanks. That is the info that I was looking for. I have never dealt with anyone besides BN, and was unable to find anything on the internet. I am just in need of getting some quotes. We are going to try and go with BN due to the successful track record with it at this and our other plants, but have to do my due diligence in getting 3 quotes. However, we are not opposed to using someone different. Just don't like paying big bucks on something that isn't tried and true. Thanks for the help.

WE Have gone through 3300 Encore series.
i have some doubts on this.

1. i heard, we should replace entire rack of 3300 with 3500 Encore series modules. is there any possibility to replace single module/ 2-3 modules with 3500 ENCORE series modules or We need to replace entire Rack?

2. which one is the Best Solution 3500 series VMS or 3500 ENCORE Series for upgrading 3300 system.

3.what is the Track record of 3500 Encore System. Is it proven system?, when it is launched? and is there any installation base in India for 3500 Encore series system.

Metrix will be unavailing a monitoring system at the Power Gen Show next month. It is rumored to be "equal or better than the BN 3500 at half or 1/3rd the price of the 3500". This was designed with the assistance of former BN Management. Metrix has been manufacturing direct replacement transducers with great success.

We're also upgrading a Bently Nevada 3300 system and thought the 3500 would be the natural upgrade path, but when we compared the quote to the equivalent Vibro-Meter system the Bently system priced itself out of the competition. The markup on a standard Dell server for the historian was astonishing and gave us the impression we were being taken for a ride.

We satisfied ourselves that the hardware was equivalent and decided that after many years with Bently Nevada we were happy to move to Vibro-Meter.

We did get a quote from Metrix. They were very competitively priced and after the demo showed to have a very good product. They even offered up some help on a problem we were having at the time of the demo on our BN system. As for BN 3500, that is out of the picture. Very over priced. They definitely bid them selves right out of the race. On top of that it took them about a year of hounding them just to get a bid. They acted as if our project wasn't worthy of their time. I am hoping to get this project going for our 2015 outage. I was postponed till then. Thanks for all the help and insight.

If you're looking for a replacement for any vibration monitor, not just the 3300, you should contact your local Metrix sales manager and see the demo for their new SETPOINT monitor. A much greater value than any existing monitor system being sold. Metrix also has a new service organization which can help you maintain your existing monitor systems until you're ready to update/upgrade.
