Hi There:

I want to replace a DC motor with an AC motor. The DC motor specification is given below:

POwer: 5KW
Full Load Speed: 3570 rpm
Torque: 1.6 m.da.N
Over load Torque: 3.2 m.da.N

Based on the above info, please help me out in finding an AC motor. Is there any specific tool for this, if not then please guide me through this process.

Thanks in advance

Regards
Khurram

Responding to Kchishti's Mon, Mar 29, 1:51pm query:

1) Dimension Error?
If the output power is 5 kW, then rated torque at 3570 rpm is 1.37 kgf-m, or 13.4 N-m.

2) Substitution Considerations.
a) If your intent is to substitute a "near" standard induction motor, then a 50 Hz, 2-pole motor won't work.
b) A 60-Hz, 2-pole motor could work if oversized to compensate for the low slip requirement needed to accommodate the 3570 rpm specification.
c) It appears that, regardless of supply frequency, then a speed augumentation VFD solution will be required.

Hi,

why can't you go for a servomotor?

Simodrive along with Siemens servomotor...

but am sorry do not know about the cost.

There are .746KW per Horsepower, so your motor is about 6.7 HP. The next size larger AC motor that meets the RPM and torque would be a good place to start. Is this what you were looking for?
