Siemens S7 300 Global data blocks

Siemens S7 300, CPU 315 2DP, connected to an HMI panel. Whenever a data block is modification and downloaded to the PLC, all the data is lost and has to be inserted again in the HMI panel.
How do you prevent this from occurring?
