sriram,

You have asked this question before (12 Aug 2012) and didn't receive a response.

I did a quick search of control.com using the 'Search' function at the far right of the menu bar at the top of every control.com webpage for some of the terms you have confusion about and found several previous threads have explanations.

For example, using the search term:

"sliding pressure"

I was able to find many threads. (You may need to use the Search Help function for multi-worded terms), and as with any Internet search don't stop with just one search word or -term. Try several combinations; look at a couple of the search results and see if there are other words/terms being used for the same function/phenomenon and then use those terms in another search.

I would also suggest searching Google Books for various references and handbooks on steam turbines and power plants if you don't have access to a technical library. Google Books has many references and handbooks, but not all of them; many are still copyrighted. You might try searching for "Power Generation Handbook" or "Handbook of Power Generation". About the best reference ever on steam and general steam turbine control is "Steam: It's Generation and Use" by Babcock and Wilcox. This is a fine reference that has excellent explanations of many steam plant fundamentals and operating modes.

Hope this helps!
