I have a basic Solar Emergency Power set-up utilizing a 6000 watt Modified Square Wave Inverter. I would like to step-up the 110V to 220V
using a general purpose transformer.
Powering basic home functions but need to up the ante to 220V to be able to power my water pump. The pump is 1/2 HP and draws approx 6amps per leg on 220V.
Would a 3 kva or 5 kva transformer be better, could I leave powered on all the time (ie. keeping the fridge and freezer running) without inrush problems, any idea if any draw from the inverter/battery set-up if no power is being consumed? Oh yea, Proper breaker size for either the 3kva or 5kva transformer?
Thanks
