Unit Files in the remote Remote HMI (Mark V)

Recently we have upgrade PROMs in TCQA/TCDA/LCC cards in the Mark V panel. We have six Mark V panels, each unit there is a single-unit HMI Server and three remote multiunit HMI Server.

During PROM upgrade some of the files in the F:\UNIT directory changed in the local single unit HMI server. We are not updated the Unit files in the remote multi-unit HMIs.

Is it required both remote and local HMI unit files should be same?

Any easy method to copy unit files form local HMI files without using any hardware?

Is it required that all files on all HMIs be at the same "level"? No. BUT, it is HIGHLY recommended that the Mk V files on all HMI servers be updated to be the same on all PCs--for two reasons. First, it's one method of backing-up the files, and, second, on the chance that it may be necessary to download from one of the remote HMIs the files to be downloaded MUST be the same, or problems can result.

Easily copy files between PCs with only a StageLink connection? Simply use the Sneakernet provided with all Mk V operator interfaces: copy files to be moved to another machine to a floppy disk, put on your sneakers ("tennis shoes"), and walk them to the PC where the files are to be copied, and copy them from the floppy to the PC.

Some Mk V HMIs were connected by Ethernet (usually referred to as the Plant Data Highway, or PDH), even if the Mk V HMIs were all HMI Servers. If this connection exists, files can be easily copied between PCs, but if it doesn't exist the "easiest" method is to use the Sneakernet (even if one burns the files to be copied to a CD using the very user-friendly GE CD-burning utilities...).

If PROMs were upgraded, it's safe to assume that the card configuration files (e.g., TCDA_CFG.DAT, etc.) in the PROM subdirectories were also updated, so at least three files in each PROM subdirectly should also have changed when the PROMs were changed. (This isn't a definite rule, but it's safe to assume that the card configuration files in the PROM subdirectory were updated when the PROMs were updated.)
