Can we use structured tags in WINCC using 505 TCP-IP as the connection? (An error message comes when entering the address for SIMATIC 505 TCP/IP. The structure tag does get created and then later we can also manually enter the address).

But is this the right way of defining tags?

I use the Cti2572 card, a Ti555, WinCC and structure tags. I have had not problem with this setup. However, I do not manually try to create the structure myself. I use a product called the "APTTagConverter" that Siemens has commisioned. This product will build a complete WinCC database using a text file that is produced by a product called APT.

I am currently interfacing to a program written in Tisoft using WinCC. Nevertherless I am still using the "sync" product to build the WinCC database. In this fashion I am avoiding the types of problems that you are encountering.
