i am currently living 30 km away from my old house in another house. currently my old neighbour is obliging me turning the water tank on/off.

i want an automatic switch for the motor that turns on whenever water supply is available (as it is limited to 4-5 hours at any point of the day) and to automatically turn off when the tank is full.

however there is another major problem.sometimes water supply is smelly and full of dirt. so i also want a sensor (or something similar) which allows water to enter the tank only when it is reasonably pure.

 

You aren't clear where the water is coming from. Is it surface water? A pipeline that isn't always full? A poorly producing water well? We can't tell you how to turn on and shut off the water until we have more information.

As far as the dirt sensor is concerned, it would be better to simply filter the water. Use a wye-strainer for the large particles, rocks and stuff, followed by a simple cartridge water filter with a folded paper filter that filters down to about 10 micron particle size. That way you don't have to have a sensor (turbidity sensors cost a bunch, conductivity sensors less so, but still) and you can see when the cartridge filter needs to have its cartridge changed.

Actually it's a pipeline that isn't always full. the motor pumps the water from the pipeline to the water tank. Well the horrible part of it is that sometimes the water gets mixed with the sewerage. Having filters is a good idea but what for the microbes and infectious agents which are smaller than 10 microbes. How can we prevent them from entering the tank?
