Brand New Compact 8-Port Industrial Ethernet Switch
Antaira announced its latest range of unmanaged Ethernet switches, aimed at providing industrial spaces with high-speed data connections.
To help meet the need for high-speed Ethernet ports in industrial environments, Antaira announced its latest Ethernet port switches, the LNX-C800 and the LNX-C800G. In this article, we will take a closer look at these switches and some of their key features.
An Interconnected Industry
Industrial processes are becoming increasingly reliant on networks the need for high-speed connections has never been more important. While there are many off-the-shelf solutions for high-speed Ethernet connections these are often only applicable to consumer environments such as homes and offices.
Industrial environments can bring a whole range of harsh conditions that would damage most commercial electronics including wide temperature swings, humidity, dust, moisture, and even explosive atmospheres, hence the importance of choosing suitable equipment.
The LNX-C800 and LNX-C800G
These devices are DIN rail mounted 8 port Ethernet switches that offer 10/100Tx RJ45 Fast Ethernet on each port while the LNX-C800G also offers 1Gbps.
The series of Ethernet switches are housed in an industrial enclosure built from metal, has an IP rating of IP30, and is 30% smaller than its predecessors. The LNX-C800 supports the MDI/MDI-X function and has a store-and-forward architecture which means that the unit will wait for an entire frame before sending it across the network.

The LNX-C800 series has a wide range of protection methods integrated to maximize reliability including reverse power polarity, overload current, and a redundant power supply input to ensure that the system always operates even when the main power input source is interrupted.
The LNX-C800 can operate in temperatures between -10°C and +65°C while the EOT version can operate in temperatures between -40°C and +75°C.
Highly Adaptable Switches
The series of switches operate on voltages between 12VDC and 48VDC making them highly adaptable, consume 2.2W, and use a removable 6 contact terminal block for power connections.
All switches are RoHS compliant, FCC certified, CE certified, and conform to free-fall to IEC60068-2-32, a shock to IEC60068-2-27, and vibration to IEC60068-2-6. The switches are compliant to NEMA TS1/TS2 (pending) and have UL safety ratings of UL 61010-1 and UL 61010-2-201 with a warranty of 5 years.
The LNX-C800G operates up to 1Gbps and as a result, has a higher power consumption of 3.3W with all other parameters being the same.
