Compact WIPOS PSU3 Delivers Boost Power for Control Panels

Wieland Electric has introduced the PRO LINE WIPOS PSU3 series, a compact three-phase power supply designed for modern industrial control panels. Delivering up to 95% efficiency and a 150% boost for seven seconds, the PSU3 supports reliable startup of demanding loads without oversizing the power supply. Designed to Address Real Control Panel Challenges

Industrial control panels often have limited space. Integrators frequently deal with space constraints, long wiring runs, changing load profiles, and strong electrical interference. The new PSU3 series from Wieland Electric tackles these issues with a wide three-phase input range for global compatibility. It offers power outputs from 120 W to 960 W, with 24 VDC and 48 VDC models, and an adjustable output voltage up to 29 VDC to help with voltage drop. The PSU3 operates from -25°C to +70°C, supports load sharing in parallel mode, and uses push-in terminals to reduce wiring time.

The new PSU3 power supply can deliver a 150% power boost for 7 seconds to handle start-up surges from capacitive equipment. It also reaches up to 95% efficiency, which helps lower energy use and reduce heat, so less cooling is needed. Its low in-rush current puts less stress on upstream circuit protection and may help lower installation costs.

For protection, the PSU3 uses dual-stage surge protection with MOV and a built-in gas discharge tube (GDT). It has an intelligent hiccup mode during short circuits to prevent overheating and offers fast transient regulation for sensitive equipment. The power supply exceeds Class B EMC standards. For monitoring, it includes a DC-OK LED indicator and a relay contact output for easy integration into the control system. It is certified to IEC EN 61010/62368 and UL standards, making it ready for use in global markets.
