Demo Day: Vention Launches New Products During Annual Event

Vention’s annual event featured a new look at the Zero-Shot Automation strategy, along with the unveiling of platform enhancements to improve development, simulation, and collaboration.

Vention, the Canadian developer of software and hardware automation machine solutions, recently held its 6th annual Demo Day, announcing strategic progress toward Zero-Shot Automation, which allows engineers to use AI tools to accelerate development. The Demo Day lineup also featured new product improvements that benefit designers and roboticists alike.

Zero-Shot Automation

Vention’s goal is to make the development process as quick and painless as possible. However, as technology advances (think vision and AI models), ease and simplicity seem to be more difficult goals. However, the platform's manufacturer may play a significant role in alleviating some of the burden of training AI models for new and unusual tasks. This is exactly what Vention has set out to deliver.

Zero-Shot Automation promises to deliver across the whole stack of Vention’s solutions. This includes MachineBuilder, a browser-based development suite that integrates the mechanical design of the machine cell layout with AI design assistance, which is built and trained on thousands of previous designs, providing a solid foundation of reliable information.

The Zero-Shot Automation solution also includes MachineLogic, which includes a digital twin of the machine cell model. The real physics engine enables simulations of potential changes to prevent costly problems before they occur. The model can also be used during the machine's lifetime to evaluate the impact of changes and upgrades.

All of the AI tools in the process are built on an ever-expanding library of functions and datasets, providing a high degree of confidence that the machine will work properly the first time: Zero-Shot Automation.

Product Feature Improvements

Vention also provided a view into several key product improvements that can be leveraged by designers and developers.

Developer Toolkit

The toolkit for developers is a software package that can integrate into any programmer’s preferred workflow, giving them access to libraries for machine development, communication, data storage, and visualization projects.

Simulation Checker

Improved performance in real-world physics allows simulations to more reliably verify designs and changes before code is ever developed. Specific elements like collisions, gravity, and machine motion commands are more true to real-world behavior, providing a higher degree of confidence for projected designs.

RemoteView

Providing a remote glimpse into the running process can help diagnose problems. Providing the proper details is key. Camera views can be critical, as well as any statuses, faults, and process data that were monitored just before a failure occurred. The RemoteView tool can record all kinds of operational data on the end-user side, all of which is used by technicians at Vention to ensure a rapid diagnosis of the root problem.

Vention Projects

Starting a project is often the hardest step. Vention Projects provides a single workflow for defining the scope and requirements of a new project. This is very important to ensure that all teams and functions have clearly communicated, so that effort is not wasted early in the prototyping stage.

Getting to the Goal Line Faster

The goal is not always to add more features and functionality. However, no matter how complex the project may be, it’s always critical to transition from early design to final implementation quickly and without issues. Vention’s announcements during the 2025 Demo Day proved the company’s commitment to keep making automation easier and less burdensome for end users, regardless of the project’s complexity.
