Facilitated large-scale network installations, the units can provide IoT solutions for real-time locating systems (RTLS) and smart industrial IoT applications, including monitoring IoT applications in factories, warehouses, schools, offices, and hospitals.

ICT Company for North and South America Market

Fujitsu is a Japanese information and communication technology (ICT) company providing a wide range of technology solutions, products, and services. The company has around 140,000 employees in more than 100 counties.

Fujitsu oversees distributing and marketing electronic and system components and sub-systems in North and South America, with products including relays, thermal printers, touch panels, wireless modules, and input and pointing devices. The company headquarters is in Sunnyvale, CA.

Wirepas Massive Sensor and Network Units

The new endurance line is based on an embedded Fujitsu Wirepas wireless module and Nordic nRF52832. It consists of a mesh anchor unit, mesh tag unit, mesh sensor unit, and mesh CO2 sensor unit.

  • The mesh anchor unit is for location or asset tracking reference points. It has a three-axis acceleration sensor used for wake-up function.
  • The mesh tag unit also has a three-axis acceleration sensor for location/asset tracking with wake-up/sleep function for further energy savings.
  • The mesh sensor unit is embedded with humidity, barometric, temperature, pressure, three-axis acceleration, illuminance, and sound level sensors.
  • The mesh CO2 sensor unit is powered by USB-C, IP-65 rated, and the operating temperature is -10 ℃ to +60 ℃. It also offers a CO2 sensor.

The mesh units feature flexible power source options, including four AA batteries or USB-C. When used in the anchor mode, the battery life is designed to last five years. They are water-resistant and dustproof (IP-65 rated) only when battery-powered and can be operated at the temperature of -20 ℃ to +60 ℃.

All four units measure a compact 74.2 x 74.2 x 28.0 mm. The mesh units weigh approximately 75 g; the CO2 sensor unit weighs around 65 g. They are embedded with a detachable bracket for easy installation and maintenance, screw holes for a wall, pillar, or ceiling mount, and a possible double-sided adhesive tape mount.

Sensor Units Designed for Industrial IoT Applications

Powered by Wirepas Massive mesh networks, this line of units utilized Fujitsu mesh sensors, mesh tags, and mesh anchors. The integrated Wirepas Positioning Engine is suitable for location awareness of moving assets and stationery items.

These massive industrial network units can be applied to sensor networks, asset management, smart factories, smart buildings, and smart cities.

The units are CE, FCC/ISED, and Radio Act Japan certified. Orders plan to be accepted at the beginning of July.
