Gates has expanded its portfolio of hydraulics solutions with the universal eCrimp mobile app.

Gates Corporation is a global leader in the provision of application-specific, highly engineered, fluid power, and power transmission solutions. Gates has a vast product portfolio that is supplied to a variety of customers in the fields of agriculture, construction, manufacturing and energy, consumer, and transport. Recently, the company announced the addition of a universal mobile app to its ever-evolving range of hydraulics solutions.

Gates’ eCrimp App

Gates’ new app is designed to suitable for iPhone and Android for users who face challenging manufacturing conditions. The app builds upon a previous model (North America focused) which enabled automatic updates, and global scalability for customers from a variety of locations and with differing application requirements.

More key features of the eCrimp app include the following:

  • Safety-assured qualified crimp specifications
  • Latest automatic updates in realtime via WiFi connection
  • The ability to access common custom-chosen house-coupling combinations
  • Visual identification of products to avoid errors
  • The ability to download specifications even during times where a data connection is limited

The new app gives customers access to a Safe Hydraulics knowledge center. This information is the same as that embedded into the new GC20 with Gates Cortex Intelligence crimper. This crimper is responsible for integrating the eCrimp app with Gates’ latest crimping hardware.

The MXG 4K, MegaSys, MXT, and Multi-Master, and GMV are products that have been recently introduced by Gates in the hope of providing an easier way of communicating crimp specifications to customers. These products are lighter in weight, offer multi-specification coverage which minimizes entry requirements, market-leading performance, and reduced force to bend.

Mr. Pitstick then addressed the recently introduced app,  “The eCrimp app is the latest example of Gates listening to our customers, analyzing data from the field and the lab, and synthesizing that information to further improve our market-leading portfolio of fluid power solutions. The app and our other new hydraulics products are a result of our commitment to engineering innovation."

With the release of the eCrimp app and other products, Gates continues to expand its product portfolio for its network of customers. The Gates eCrimp app is free and available to download. All you need to do is locate and click the black icon in the iOS App Store or Android Play Store.
