Recom Launches “Ultra-Slim” 90 W DIN Rail AC/DC Power Supply

Recom has released a 90 W DIN rail AC/DC power supply designed for space-constrained automation enclosures and compact control panels. The new REFIN2U-S90/24/CL comes with a 150% power boost to handle surges, boasts up to 93.6% efficiency, and features push-in terminals for easy installation, making it suitable for use in critical industrial and residential electrical installations.

The 90 W DIN Rail AC/DC Power Supply

The REFIN2U-S90/24/CL DIN Rail AC/DC unit offers a steady 90 W power output. For 4.5 s, the power supply provides a 150% power boost, allowing it to manage startup current and surges often experienced in industrial systems. The new unit accommodates a wide 85 VAC to 276 VAC input range, eliminating the need for input switching or additional voltage adaptation. The output delivers a standard 24 VDC that can be adjusted to a maximum of 29 VDC, offering flexibility for applications that need precise voltage tuning.

For protection during fault events, the power supply uses constant current characteristics when overloaded and meets LPS and NEC class 2 standards under UL1310. The unit limits power output during malfunctions, minimizing the risk of fire while improving the overall electrical safety. To reduce internal heat and enable cool operations, the power supply features a 93.6% peak efficiency, directly contributing to longer lifespan and higher mean time before failure.

Compact Design and Simplified Installation

The REFIN2U-S90/24/CL is housed within Recom’s 2U "step-shape" DIN-rail enclosure, featuring 36 mm in width and 151 g in weight. The slim design allows for installation in tightly spaced distribution boards and flat panel enclosures. With snap-on DIN rail mounting, push-in terminals for tool-free wiring, and optional panel mount flanges for alternative setups, Recom has designed the power solution for simple installation.

The new unit is also equipped with noise suppression, making it ideal for noise-sensitive areas such as homes, offices, and industrial spaces where traditional power supplies might generate excessive noise. Additionally, the power supply is compliant with RoHS 2+, REACH, and IEC/EN EMC standards, aligning with both modern environmental and material safety regulations.
