Servo Position Accuracy On Plain Surface
There is a recent Control.com article on this issue. https://control.com/technical-articles/mechanical-motion-fluid-vs-electric-actuators/ It must be 20years ago I used Emerson electrical actuators on a worm screw giving resolution around 100 ångström units. The maximum movement I believe was...

simple modbus server device address question: if you can change it, is it nonvolatile; where stored?
In days of old the number would be on dip or rotary switches and [ baud rate, parity, stop bits ] were whatever came with it ! Does this tiny device have some flash memory? Will it revert to the factory default setting unpredictably? Yes and if it ever did you would return as faulty.

FactoryTalk vs MarkVIe
I wouldn't normally comment on GE Mark* control systems as not my area - but would take issue with CSA [as gilbertgrape87 has done] that PLC's are unsuitable for turbine control. I would however agree with most of his other sentiments. Siemens Turbomachinery [UK] has been using both Rockwell...

Capacitance of Intrinsically Safe Cables
Mindful we had been producing IS Designs for many years - one apparently awkward end client [before commissioning] asked us to 'prove your IS Design is in fact Intrinsically Safe'. Once you have done the calculations you realise in hindsight: - never assume IS rated devices are safe - the hard...

Doubtful program.
If there is no HMI then my conclusion is the internal flags are used on the Programming Terminal / by Personnel with access to the programming device. In the early days of data aquisition I added code which was useful to me on a distributed Mitsubishi 'A' series PLC that allowed me to fine tune...

Capacitance of Intrinsically Safe Cables
The standards you refer to would not detail the point here. Most cables specify total capacitance (Intrinsically Safe or otherwise) rather than wirewire/wire shield. In my experience, the wirewire capacitance should be relatively small to be irrelevent. If it isn’t - maybe due to extensive cable...

Cylinder Position Sensors: Reed Type vs Solid State
Historically reed switches were cheaper and a better option than proximity switches. They still are if reliability is of no concern.

Doubtful program.
The short video shows what appears to be continuously running conveyors; with glue guns also continuously running onto the paper as it's moving up the machine. Servo instructions appear to be have been copied from a standard template...

Doubtful program.
Can you provide a software printout and further detail of the process. " x0, x1, x2 These come from the encoder: x7 Home sensor " Does the machine start / run if any of these are disconnected.

Looking for a suggestion
It's assumed you have a control system here - so unclear why you need a cyclic 16 stage counter. Or do you have 16 control systems, one for each station but no overall control ? Perhaps you can provide futher details with a sketch.

Fundamentals
You might say the above is a starting point - but it seems to me you need to start studying basic electrical engineering - we did this at school. Obvious there is so much to learn that it would be impractical to 'detail' here. Having seen other threads posted - you need to convince us you are...
