Let's ignore price for the moment. What manufacturer has better technology? We've mainly been talking about PLCs here, but I'm willing to open it up a little bit. Who has a contactor that's light-years ahead? EtherCAT may be better for certain applications than a combination of SERCOS and EtherNet/IP, but in reality there are very few applications where Rockwell's options wouldn't work just as well.
Dave Zimbrich: "Rockwell is argueably the most accepted platform in North America, but I am sure you will be hard-pressed to find anyone out there with an open and objective mind that will agree with your perspective regarding Rockwell technology."
Well, since anyone I pull out you will simply say is not being open and objective, we'll never really know. You've set up an impossible test. I'd like to be more concrete about this. Don't wave your hands and say, "lots of people make better stuff!" Tell me what's actually better.
