Can you please suggest any brand/model of industrial unmanaged switch with minimun two 10 BaseFl ports (SC or ST)?

I've only founded Hirschmann and Ruggedcom and I would like to compare with others.

I would have to highly recomend the RuggedCom Products. I have seen it it action and it's the best built switch on the market bar none.

I'm sure they have a switch that meets your description exactly. You may wish to continue to look, but as the president of a very small company, once I found Ruggedcom my search was over. The 5 year warranty alone makes it worth the money from a R.O.I. stance.

Great product, great company, and great support. I will continue to use them on all my projects.

You could look at two other products.

These are the SD-3xx range from Westermo. These have fibre ports - (1 or 2) and a single copper port - total of three ports

Unlike many many other on the markteplace these are true industrial units that have true industrial specifications - not dream't up by Mr Marketing!

The Westermo units are very, very good value for money

Check Transition bridging converters they will do what you want, a switch with only 2 ports isn't really a switch at all.

Take a look at the sixnet website as well, I think it is sixnetio.com, seem to remember they also had a media converter with 2 ports, another one you might try is Westermo.

I don't know if this is a typo but most Ethernet switches support 100BASE-FX fiber and not 10BASE-FL. 10BASE-FL is a 10Mbps fiber optic Ethernet standard and 100BASE-FX is the 100Mbps standard. You can find 10BASE-FL ports on Ethernet hub products but they are rarely found on Ethernet switches. Unlike twisted-pair Ethernet which can auto-negotiate data rates, two interconnected Ethernet fiber optic devices will, usually, only communicate if they are both 10BASE-FL or both 100BASE-FX.

The exception to this rule is 100BASE-SX. These devices can auto-negotiate their data rates over fiber. However, these types of devices are rare. More information can be found at http://www.ccontrols.com/pdf/Extv4n1.pdf .
