MKVIe for LM Engines

Hello,

is there anybody who has already seen a MKVIe Control System driving a LM-DLE-Engine like the LM2500DLE? Currently we are planning a retrofit from MKV_LM to MKVIe for two PGT25DLE-units. What really makes me some concearn when having a look at GE's proposal is the delivery time: 44 weeks and the commissioning time: 12 weeks. The request was about a replacement of the control system (including HMI) only, what means re-using all the wiring and instrumentation. I wonder if we will be the first who will be allowed to witness commissioning a LM-engine with MKVIe...

Any stories or experience to share?

Best regards,
Marco

I believe there are many new aero-derivative units being run by Mark VIe turbine control systems.

I don't know how many existing units have been retrofitted with Mark VIe systems.

If the unit(s) being retrofitted are compressor-drive machines, is the compressor control also being incorporated into the Mark VIe, or more of the compressor control than was being done by the Mark V LM? Could this be the reason for the additional time being quoted?

Lots of heavy duty gas turbines have been and are being retrofitted with Mark VIe-based turbine control systems, using existing wiring. The Mark VIe uses many of the same tested, proven methods as previous generations of Speedtronic turbine control systems (hardware and software), including the Mark V LM. It wouldn't be as much of a stretch to retrofit a unit using a Mark V LM with a Mark VIe, as it would be to use an S7 or 90-70 or AB PLC to retrofit a Mark V LM.
