Dear,
Basically, we have five Caterpillar diesel generators (each 1.5MW) for our own drilling utilities. Normally two generators were on line and added third generator due to more demand. What happens here, started the third engine, synchronized manually (attempted four times) generator with bus, observed reverse power flowing (-320kw) and reverse power protection never took any action, and manually opened the breaker and stopped the engine. Why didn't the breaker trip through reverse power protection? (Protection settings are found alright as per recommendations.)
Regards,
Moorthy
