Now rotork IQ range MOV remotely operating on continuous command, i want it will operate on pulse command. i.e open and close.

Hi there,

Need more info if you want some help.

Do you plan to change this signal to a pulse for open, stop and close?

Do you have a drawing of the wiring configuration and the various options on the wiring? Is the drawing correct for the model you use?

Do you have the manual with you with the various parameters? Have you found the remote pulse parameter already?

What is the main supply - 440VAC?

Do you have the local O/C/S switches on the actuator or have they been removed so that the actuator can only be operated remotely?

What have you tried so far and what is it you are having problems with?

When is the last time you replaced the battery?

Send me these details and I will see what I can do.

Before it was running on pulse command, now not running. i checked through jumper it was running constant command. recently i replaced battery, 400vac system, 24vdc control voltage obtained through MOV. it was running ok last 20 years. i think some card is faulty, but which one. i have complete drawings, but rotork not provide enough trouble shooting manual. i have 40 MOV's handling last ten years but this type of problem came first time.

Hi again,

You did not write very clearly and some things seems to contradict your first writing but I will try and help.

First you said the control is on continuous command. Why do you say that? As far as I know there is only pulse commands and this is done with the hard wiring on the actuator.(see 33 to 36 on the wiring diagram). The supply is from 36 through some remote push button or switch back to 33, 34 and 35. It is not a constant command supply. The only thing is that these 24V pulses have to be longer than 300 milliseconds for open and close and the voltage must be less than 3V for the stop command pulse.

If you say this actuator worked before on this pulse command then the wiring is most probably right unless the something have been changed recently and after that it did not work anymore.

Something else that might be a possibility is that when you changed the battery, was the main 400V supply on to the actuator? If not, you have lost the program. The main 400V supply must be kept on while you change the battery otherwise there is nothing to retain the program. If this is the case the actuator will not work once you switch the main supply back on and you have to use the manual and remote setting tool and reprogram the parameters. Easy enough to do just follow the instructions in the setup program.

If this is not your problem do another more in detail explanation of what is the problem.

I solved problem, it was just to replace local/remote PCB,behind selector switches.clean magnets etc. yes u r right it works only 300 ms command. but i was confused because i am operating maximum MOVs through constant command, one relay driving by PLC doing both operation. open/close. only two state.

and also MOV CAN OPERATED ON THREE MODE LIKE OPEN STOP CLOSE AND HOW WE CAN CONFIGURE THIS LOGIC IN DCS :::: MEANS I ALREADY HAVE THAT MOV DI DO BLOCK BUT HOW THIS BLOCK IS CONFIGURED CAN U TELL ME

ALSO IS OPERATED ON CONTINUOUS SIGNAL OR DISCRETE SIGNAL PLZ TELL ME IN DETAIL

I have the same problem, i have two impulse push-buttons for open and close valve. But in order to open or close valve i have to maintain push-button actuated, otherwise if i take my hand off the button it will stop, but its the first time that we are connecting and testing remote control, since they are installed it always work in local control.
Wiring diagram nº: 6000-200-02 ( i couldn't find it)
Actuator type: IQT
wiring tested: 1742288753127.png
this wiring did not work, the ROTORK display showed the message "bus closed" when i actuate push-button, so i decide to use NC contacts and then make the operation that i explain above

for external wiring you'll need two latching relays, properly wired or a dual pole latching relay properly wired.
You might also check your Rotork data to see if those options are available within their controller

Thank you for the reply.
i didn't understand, you're saying that a i can't use just pushbuttons? (PS: im using internal 24vdc from actuator)

Far more than the push buttons are involved. The push buttons with a complete ladder/logic diagram of the entire control loop, including the valve actuator and its relay logic, are required. Once you do that, you'll answer you own problem!
