thanks to both oneye14 and Carl i will source any of the both devices available and try thanksthe SLC 5/03 has also a RS485 port which will give higher speeds than RS232 port.

I had good success using an ADAM-4572 ethernet to RS-232/422/485 converter. We used Modbus over ethernet.I have an Allen Bradley SLC 5/03 CPU on 7 slot chassis the CPU communicates on rs 232 and i want to communicate with other devices on an Ethernet network using switches, is there a way to convert rs232 to Ethernet? thanks
