Hi all,
I have recently released a small freeware set of Windows tools for Modbus testing and debugging:
Protokolant Tools:
- Modbus RTU Master
- Modbus RTU Slave
- Modbus ASCII Master
- Modbus ASCII Slave
- Modbus TCP/IP Master
- Modbus TCP/IP Slave
The tools are lightweight, portable, and focused on everyday diagnostics rather than being a large industrial suite. I built them because many Modbus utilities are powerful, but not always pleasant to use.
Main features:
- RTU, ASCII and TCP/IP variants
- master/client and slave/server tools
- editable I/O maps
- visible TX/RX frames
- no installer
- freeware
I would be grateful for feedback from people who use Modbus in real projects, especially regarding protocol behaviour, UI decisions, and anything that feels missing or unclear.

Thanks,
