hello again,

With reference to MArk V, what is the meaning of FSR?? Ya, right its the fuel flow...but can we determine our generation if we know the FSR?? Is there any direct relationship between FSR and MW?? What about FSNL (FSKRN2)!! Does that also contribute to MW?? Kindly clarify...

FSR means "Fuel Stroke Reference" and is related to fuel control valve stroke (GCV on gas fuel, LCV on liquid fuel). Higher FSR means higher output, but it is not a linear relationship and is not the only parameter affecting output. Ambient pressure, temperature and relative humidity and heating value of the fuel also impact what the output will be for a fixed FSR value. While it is theroetically possible to calculate fuel flow and then generation using FSR and all the other pertinent parameters, it isn't easy. FSR is calculated in the control based on demand is very useful for GE's control system to use to position the fuel control valve. Note, FSR is used on Mark IV, V, VI and VIe GE controls. It is the digital control replacement for VCE which was used on Mark I and Mark II analog controls.

So, it is much easier to determine your generation by the electrical power instruments than by FSR, and much easier to determine fuel flow by flow measurement instrumentation.
