Flow Measurement

Existing and prospective Baumer-Manas customers will know the benefits of installing electromagnetic and thermal mass flow, particularly those operating within chemical manufacturing and water treatment facilities. Gas and liquid flow meters are crucial components for maintaining operational efficiency, quality, and safety in industrial settings. These instruments help detect leaks, monitor fluid intake, and control and regulate flow rates.

In industrial settings, flow meters play a critical role in maintaining process safety and efficiency. An electromagnetic flow meter at a water treatment facility precisely tracks the flow of treated water, allowing for proper dosage of chemicals and preventing inefficiencies or violations of regulations because of improper use. Similar to this, a thermal flow meter in the chemical industry monitors gasses like nitrogen or pressurized air, providing accurate flow data that aids in maintaining the ideal gas-to-material ratio, ensuring constant product quality, and reducing waste energy incurred by unnecessary gas consumption.

Expanding Expertise

Through its acquisition of Manas, Baumer will now be able to outfit an even larger customer base with flow measurement solutions. Baumer’s CombiFlow PF75S, for example, incorporates both velocity and volume measurement with an accuracy of up to 0.2%. The electromagnetic flow meter is designed with a continuous, unrestricted measurement tube to reduce energy expenditure. The PF75S comes with a maximum flow velocity of 10 m/s, a step response time of ≤ 400 ms, a measurement temperature range of -10 to 100 °C, a sampling interval of ≤ 200 ms, and a minimum measuring span of 0 to 0.01 m3/h.
